Description: 
The central cafeteria of Universidad San Buenaventura in Bogotá is the place were more than 200 students share a common space to have lunch, meal or just study. There was a problem, it was extremely noisy. The measured background noise was about 69dB (A) and it was required to propose an acoustical solution. There were 2 receiver positions for each of the 2 source positions, 3 repetitions each. The generated sound was a log sine sweep from 20Hz to 20kHz at an averaged sound pressure level of 100dB (A) in order to assure at least a 30dB signal to noise ratio. Distances, locations and levels were determined according the ISO 3382 standard. An acoustical model was predicted in EASE software and it was used to evaluate different kinds of solutions.
